- Description
- Equipment Listing Notice of Intent (Amendment) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Nation Centers for Environmental Health, Division of Laboratory Sciences, Nutritional Biomarkers Branch, intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price equipment purchase contract to Hamilton Robotics 4970 Energy Way Reno, NV 89502. This contract will be for 120 days from time of award. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. Hamilton Microlab STARlet Field Upgrade (8 to 12 1000uL-channel upgrade, field upgrade service and reagent and deep well plate carriers) requirements are as follows: • Increase liquid-handling throughput by 50% • Decrease pipetting time by about one-third for each extraction step for the fully-validated NHANES analysis method; thus, reduce the over-all extraction time of the assay, which in turn, reduce the exposure time of extraction samples to the environmental factors. • Compatible with the existing Hamilton Microlab STARlet instrument and is the addition of four new channels to eight existing channels to create 12-channel pipetting head • Use of Hamilton Microlab STARlet instruments have been thoroughly tested and are currently a part of the laboratory's CLIA-certified routine method as meeting the method requirements for the liquid-liquid extraction of 25-hydroxyvitamin D metabolites in serum • Meet the required performance standards of our program as demonstrated by the satisfactory performance of all the instruments by this vendor which are currently used in our laboratory Hamilton Company is the only source since this is an upgrade to the existing Hamilton Microlab STARlet system, and new channels must be manufactured by Hamilton Company to be compatible with and the same as the existing 8 channels. We have experience in using the existing channels of Hamilton Robotics Microlab STARlet instruments, and they are currently a part of our validated CLIA method. The NAICS code is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing with a size standard of 1,000 employees. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. We will only issue a solicitation to Hamilton Robotics. Hamilton Robotics is the only source available to provide this equipment that meets mission critical requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal. A determination to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement. All responses must be sent in writing to Ms. Genesika Carter via email to fkn7@cdc.gov using solicitation number 2017-Q-66612 in the subject line, no later than 12:00pm Eastern Time, April 24, 2017.
