- Requirements Description Document Sources Sought Synopsis - Contractor's Capability Survey SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS This market survey is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Magnetic Particle Inspection Unit (MPI) for use by United States Air Force (USAF) personnel. The level of security clearance and amount of foreign participation in this requirement has not been determined. Contractors/Institutions responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS. This RDS describes the buy requirement required to acquire one (QTY 1) pre-production unit for the Magnetic Particle Inspection Unit, NSN 6635-00-361-4631RN, meeting the requirements of Commercial Item Description A-A-58049B and five subsequent one-year ordering periods, with a range of 1-10 each. The objective of this effort is to award a contract which results in the timely delivery of QTY 1 pre-production units and subsequent deliverables, test and delivery effort for the MPI Unit, and mitigate Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMS/MS). The Contractor shall provide commercial maintenance manuals and Illustrated Parts Breakdown in both Microsoft Word and Adobe Portable Document Format. The MPI Unit shall pass first article testing requirements as described in AFMCLC/EZPT Test Plan 17-02, dated 4 October 2016.
