- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) SOURCES SOUGHT (SS) SYNOPSIS ONLY- - NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources. The Government will not pay for the information requested herein. Only non-classified information shall be provided in your response. Copies of the submitted information may be reproduced for Government review. - PURPOSE: VENDOR will provide a 5-day 40 hour Advanced Mobility/HMWWV Operator training course with operator maintenance and battle damage assessment and repair (BDAR) POI that covers the following events. 1. STUDENT ORIENTATION: Program Overview; Advanced Mobility Training; Introduction to Vehicle Systems. 2. VEHICLE RECOVERY OPERATIONS: Winch, cables/components - proper winching/vehicle recovery techniques - safe rigging, vehicle positioning, personnel protection; field/track environment. 3. ADVANCED MOBILITY: Range Safety Brief; Off-Road/Cross-country/Adverse weather conditions; Mud/Sand operations - instructor demonstration, hazards off driving blind off a dune, high speed sharp turns in sand/mud; Water obstacle operations - gauge water depths/flow rates, vehicle capabilities; Grade/slope operations - gauge terrain, proper angle to traverse side slopes; Hill operations - gauge terrain, ascent/decent of hills, proper use of vehicle drive train to maintain continuous control; Crossing Obstacles operations - ditches, logs, rock fields, etc; vehicle capabilities and limitations. Hard surface (highway) operations. Training to be conducted with legacy through latest Up-Armored HMWWVs. 4. SIMULATOR TRAINING: Provide high fidelity, real-world driving environments and vehicle behaviors to train and improve driver/crew decision-making and behavior simulating conditions encountered on off-road track. Provide opportunity for driver/crew to react to react to environmental conditions and situations; critique of reactions in AAR after the exercise. 5. VEHICLE PMCS: Daily exercises in HMWWV Operator Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) using current TM. 6. MAINTENANCE TRAINING: Mechanical Troubleshooting - cooling system; steering system; fuel system; service brake system; halfshaft/geared hub; Electrical Troubleshooting - 12/24 dual voltage system; glow plug system; starter; protective control box; electrical system;; Organizational Troubleshooting - 4L80E transmission; Battle Damage Assessment/Repair (DBAR). Vendor will provide all direct labor, training material, supervision, facility, and all other items and services not Government-furnished necessary to conduct Advanced Mobility/HMWWV Operator training in accordance with the SOR: --1 to 3 Instructor/Student Ratio --ALL BACKSIDE SUPPORT --Training manuals (1 per student): • Advanced Mobility • Troubleshooting • Battle Damage Repair
