Description
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award to Cardno, Inc, of Lone Tree, CO as a follow on Phase II contract, for the Continuation of Mississippi River Geomorphology and Potamology Program, FY 17 Geomorphic Assessment. Cardno, Inc, is contractor of record for Phase I of this project and has exclusive knowledge of the design of the dike fields and experience in data collection and evaluation of these structures. The efforts required for this project build off the dike work previously completed by Cardno. This effort is continuing into FY 2017 under the direction of the Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center's Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (ERDC-CHL). The primary objectives of this study are to conduct detailed geomorphic assessments for the Mississippi River to identify dominant hydraulic and geomorphic processes to aid in the long-term management of the Lower Mississippi River. The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This will be an Architect Engineer contact using FAR 36. Interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualifications to provide these services in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, 26 April 2017. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFQ/RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Interested parties may submit any information for consideration by the Government to Dustin.G.Cannada@usace.army.mil with solicitation number referenced in the subject line.
