SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS DESCRIPTION: This is a sources sought to determine the availability of potential sources having the skills and capabilities necessary to provide the SPECIFIED REQUIREMENT. All interested vendors are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought including commercial market information. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITITION ANOUNCEMENT. This is a sources sought synopsis only. Any/all responses to this RFI should be submitted by email to Susan.Griffin2@va.gov. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classifications (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB/VOSB), Hub zone 8(a), small, small disadvantaged, woman owned small business, FSS/GSA contract schedule holders or large business) relative to NAICS 493110, General Warehousing and Storage (size standard $27.5 million). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on the FBO website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought announcement. SPECIFIED REQUIREMENT: Network Contracting Office 8, West Palm Beach, FL is seeking sources for a potential contractor to perform the following type of service: The general description of the requirement is: Temporary Warehouse Services including Storage of furniture to be sorted, inventoried and distributed. Period of Performance will be 1 year base with 6 month option periods for a total of 2 years. Scope of Work: Temporary Warehouse Storage GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES The Selected Contractor shall provide temporary warehouse storage approximately 5,000 to 10,000 square feet of secured temporary space within the local commuting area preferably within 10 miles of the West Palm Beach, VA Medical Center located at 7305 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410 to support large quantities of furniture to be sorted, inventoried, and distributed. Required items: 5,000 10,000 square feet dry storage/warehouse Loading Dock (leveling) Tractor Trailer capable 1 - Secured Commercial Overhead Door (accommodate a fork lift) Pallet Jack Propane Fork Lift Ventilation Fans Access 7 days a week 7:00am 4:30pm Consistent lighting at a minimum 30FC at finished floor Fire protection One electrical 120vac access point from within the secured space Customer Support Contractor Shall: a. Coordinate resolutions to customer problems and complaints with compliant response within 24 hours of notice. b. Notify the VA Medical Center COR listed above or designated representative of any discrepancies or damage to items in inventory within 24 hours Security Contractor Shall: a. Safeguard all Government property and materials from theft, misuse and damage. b. Permit only allowed authorized personnel access to the VA Medical Center inventory; maintain a daily sign-in log. c. Respond to reports of missing or stolen items. Take actions to manage the resolution of missing or stolen item reports, including taking actions to cause the replacement of items, if required. d. Establish proper security measures to safeguard inventory. UTILITIES AND SERVICES: The Contractor shall provide the following services and utilities during the period of the contract. All services will be inspected weekly by VA designated Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and discrepancies reported to the Contracting Officer (CO) for correction and/or repair. Utilities shall include: Ventilation Lights Water Electrical power for at least one 120 vac receptacle power. Initial & Replacement lamps, tubes & ballasts Secure building Janitorial Service Pest Control JANITORIAL SERVICES: The Contractor shall provide trash services for the warehouse space in the event of uncrating equipment at the warehouse before removal from the premises. The Contractor shall be responsible for maintenance of all areas, in and around the secured facility. All areas shall be maintained in a clean and safe condition. MANUAL FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS: Manual fire alarm systems shall be provided in accordance with NFPA Standard 101. Systems shall be maintained and tested by the Contractor in accordance with NFPA Standard 72. The fire alarm system wiring and equipment must be electrically supervised and automatically notify the local fire department (NFPA Standard No. 72) to approved central station. Emergency power must be provided in accordance with NFPA Standards No. 70 and 72. All responsive offerors must use procedures, techniques and current technology which are considered to be the standards of the industry.
