- Description
- VA119A-17-Q-0166 Amendment P00001 The purpose of this amendment is to provide the Government s responses to the questions below. Questions and Answers #1: Can you please let me know if there is easy access to the locations and if there is a loading dock at both locations? There is easy access to both locations. Tuscaloosa has a small loading dock, Birmingham does not, but the access door is very close to the data room where the batteries will be installed. Can the batteries be moved via a pallet jack and relocated by using an elevator? The batteries can be moved by pallet jack in Birmingham only to the door that leads in to the outer room area for the data room. The same would go for Tuscaloosa. In both cases, the contractor would have to provide the pallet jack. Birmingham is not located at a VAMC, and in Tuscaloosa, the logistics group is too far away from our building to provide a pallet jack. Will the batteries have to be carried down any stairs? No for Birmingham, possibly for Tuscaloosa. The steps leading down from the loading dock are 4-5, but there is also a handicap ramp that can be used in lieu of the steps. Can the replacement batteries be stored in the room where they will be installed? Tuscaloosa - yes, Birmingham no. The data room in Birmingham is not large enough to store the batteries. Is the 4 year option only for the Tuscaloosa OI&T Field Office? Yes, Birmingham currently has a separate maintenance agreement in place for the UPS unit. 0001 only mentions replacing batteries at Birmingham OI&T Field Office. That is correct. The Birmingham UPS only needs to have the batteries replaced. No other work is required for this UPS.
