- Description
- Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract for ToxIC License Access The Food and Drug Administration intends to make a sole source award for ToxIC Registry License Access in the amount of $50,000. The award will be made to: American College of Medical Toxicology 10645 N. Tatum Blvd, Suite 200-111 Phoenix, AZ 85028 In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. FDA requires data that is contained in the ToxIC (Toxicology Investigator Consortium) Registry for the analysis of safety issues including drug-drug interactions. The ToxIC registry is a nationwide repository of clinical toxicology data. This registry will strengthen the ability of FDA to monitor for reports of overdose or adverse events when new drugs are released into the market. When safety issues arise, the FDA will use this database to search for similar cases and for trend analysis. The database is unique in that unlike the Poison Center database, cases have much more detailed information recorded. The registry was established 8 years ago and includes 47 unique sites as well as two international sites. The database also retains the ability to link back to cases to obtain additional information should it be required. Additionally, all patients in the registry have been evaluated by medical toxicologists. No other clinical toxicology organization has created a clinician-based national database to enable the FDA to monitor and collect data in overdose and diverse events at this level. The NAICS code for this action is 541519. This procurement is made under the authority of FAR 6.302- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is a notice of intent to issue an award on a sole source basis. This notice of intent is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. Any other firms desiring consideration must fully identify their interest and capability to provide this item to: Lisa Yaw Contracts Specialist Lisa.Yaw@fda.hhs.gov 240-402-4018 A determination by the government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The projected award date is on or about April 28, 2017.
