Description
Project Description The scope of work involves Architect/Engineering (A/E) with Construction Administration (CA) Services and possible Building Code Design update and for the design and construction of the new dormitory, single parent dormitory, and child development center designed by the previous A/E firm with the project documents, dated May 2, 2016 and includes, but is not limited to: · The new A/E must review the contract documents prepared by the previous A/E to become familiar with the project and to identify any issues that could adversely impact the existing design, construction, construction administration, or the new A/E’s ability to approve shop drawings, respond to Request for Information, Change Orders, Architectural Supplemental Instructions, etc. Concerns must be reported to DOL immediately and should be addressed separately from this Scope of Work. The new successor Architect completing the A/E services for the Department of Labor accepts responsible control of the project. The new A/E may have to update the design to be in conformance with the 2015 International Building Code to comply with state and local codes. In addition the A/E may have to update the design to include, but not limited to all other applicable code updates including life-safety and other governing body codes referenced in these documents. Modifications of existing calculations, (including structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) required due to upgrading of the application of the current codes may have to be applied, and a new set of calculations issued. Any differences to the structural designs of the buildings shall be reflected on the contract documents if it is needed. (It has not been determined if this work will be needed) All work and services performed by the new A/E must comply with the JCH-814, September 2013 – Amendment 1 signed September 24, 2015. · Provide A/E services during the CA phase that may include notification to and coordination with all other authorities having jurisdiction over the construction project. The firm selected for this work shall be licensed through the State of Mississippi and met all the licensing requirements for an A/E firm. Provide construction administration services between the Owner and the Contractor during construction of a new 35,000 square foot building consisting of a two-story sixty-eight (68) bed dormitory and a two-story thirty-four (34) bed Single Parent Dormitory (SPD) building including all associated structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and site work. Provide design services and construction administration services between the Owner and the Contractor during construction of a new 6,000 square foot one-story Child Development Center (CDC) building including all associated structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and site work. Provide commissioning of the HVAC systems during HVAC verification and construction. The CxA shall supply monthly reports on the performance of the mechanical systems to assure that the systems are performing as designed. The CxA shall access the web based Building Management System (BMS) on a monthly basis to record and analyze the data for each of the split systems, makeup air units, and hot water systems. Additionally, the CxA shall visit the site as required during the construction phase to inspect all equipment and to verify that the systems perform in accordance with design intent and specifications.
