Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY for safety belts and lanyards which are capable of meeting the attached performance specifications. The intended use for this is to establish baseline minimum performance criteria and verify products' capability for use in creating an approved product list. This is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB). It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential sources for planning purposes only. Responses to this notice are not considered offers, and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Items will be approved based on the ability to meet the performance criteria and inspection/review for safety of use. The Program Manager-Special Operations Forces Survival, Support & Equipment Systems (PM-SOF SSES) office at the U.S. Army Soldier Research Development, and Engineering Center, Natick, MA is seeking performance criteria and test validation for safety belts and lanyards. Information must include user instructions in proper use, handling and maintenance. Items must be capable of being labeled with date of manufacture and item name with part number. Materials specification for hardware and textiles used in manufacturing the lanyard and or belt must be identified. Vendors may submit three samples of each item for validation testing. Vendors may submit up to three different lanyards and / or belts. Documents and samples shall be mailed to the address above. No telephonic or e-mail responses to this RFI will be considered. Additional Information All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Responses to this RFI are not offers for contract and will not be used by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. Vendors having products that they believe would be suitable for military decontamination operations as described herein shall submit all supporting documentation requested by this RFI to the POC noted above. Samples submitted may be damaged or destroyed in testing.
