Description
The U.S. Geological Survey, Pacific Coastal & Marine Science Center is requesting information seeking potential sources for the purchase of Sonobuoy products located in Santa Cruz, California. The Sonobuoy equipment will be used as part of an experiment to map sediment thickness off the U.S. Atlantic continental margin mostly beyond 200 nautical miles (nmi), in water depths generally from 3000-5000m. The sonobuoys will be used (a) to augment and validate the multichannel seismic reflection velocity solutions with direct refracted arrivals within the sediments; (b) to unequivocally identify the fault structure, deformation history, seismic stratigraphy and slope stability of the Queen Charlotte Fault system off South East Alaska. All interested firms may submit a response by April 25, 2017 demonstrating their capabilities and experience to perform the requested service to the primary contact below. Firms responding should indicate whether their socioeconomic status (e.g. small business, service disabled veteran, woman/women owned, HUBZone, etc.). The Government's evaluation of the capabilities of respondents will factor into whether the forthcoming solicitation will be conducted using full and open competition or as a set-aside for small businesses or small business designation. This requirement is expected to result in the award of a firm-fixed price contract. The anticipated NAICS code for this acquisition is 334511. The size standard is $750k. Any information submitted by respondents to this request for information (RFI) synopsis is voluntary. This sources sought notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in responses to this notice. Respondents will not individually be notified of the results of any government assessments.
