Description

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is issuing this Notice of Intent for a dual-staged competitive procurement for microgrid controller technology to be installed in a permanent microgrid research testbed at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF). The ESIF, located in Golden, Colorado, houses an unparalleled collection of state-of-the-art capabilities that support the development, evaluation, and demonstration advanced energy technologies and the controls that enable us to integrate them into our energy infrastructure. This attachment details of the competitive solicitation process. The formal LOI will be issued by May 1, 2017. The RFP will be issued only to the top-performing Stage 1 respondents, who will be identified through the LOI process. Responding to the LOI is required to be considered for receipt of the formal RFP. Responses to the LOI may be submitted until the deadline of June 2, 2017. Final selection is anticipated by December 31, 2017. An informational webinar will be held on Friday, May 5th from 9:30-10:30 AM Mountain Time (Webinar registration details available in attachment). This Notice of Intent does not commit NREL to pay costs incurred in the preparation and submission of a response to the Notice of Intent.
