Description

This is a Sources Sought Notice for RETIPORTSCAN Electrophysiology System at the Salisbury VAMC. Please respond if you have the ability and intent to complete this requirement. Include in your response a copy of your capabilities statement and FSS or GSA Contract Number, if applicable. This Sources Sought Notice is intended to locate Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), and Small Businesses. The anticipated NAICS Code for this requirement is 334510. This is not a Request for Quotation and quotes shall not be reviewed at this time. The Department of Veterans Affairs shall not be responsible for any costs incurred by the contractor as a result of this Sources Sought Notice. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Salient Characteristics to meet the minimum needs of the Government are as follows: This new equipment will collect objective measures of eye health and visual function which are focused on retinal and optic nerve function. Included in the testing procedures possible with this equipment are the Electroretinogram (ERG) which is a measure of global retinal function and which is useful in determining the status of the inner and outer retina in degenerative conditions. Pattern ERG which is a measure of ganglion cell function, especially in conditions such as glaucoma Multi-focal ERG which is an objective measure of foveal (Central) vision in comparison to peri-foveal visual function and which is useful in macular degenerative diseases. Mf ERG is also useful in monitoring the safety of long term therapy for diseases such as arthritis requiring the use of hydroxychloroquine, which can cause damage to the retina. Visually Evoked Responses (VEP) which is a measure of vision at the level of the visual area of the brain as well as the conduction of the optic nerve. These measures are useful in the assessment of brain injury stroke and other neurodegenerative diseases. All responses shall be submitted via email by Friday, April 28, 2017 at 4:00 PM EST.
