Hwy. 160, Del Norte, CO 81132. Due to muddy and/or snow packed roads to the site, some walking into the site may be required. ****************************************** Fat Bear Mechanical Treatment Thinning and Fuels Reduction This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-95. See attached solicitation and attachments. DESCRIPTION OF WORK - The US Forest Service has a requirement to mechanically reduce the density of approximately 120 acres of trees in the Shaw Mesa area of the Rio Grande National Forest on the Divide Ranger District. Dominant tree species consist of Douglas fir with several other species present including aspen, pinyon, juniper and white fir. Targeted species for treatment are Douglas fir and white fir. Trees to be treated will consist of a mixture of sizes in order to leave a variety of age classes remaining on site in a mosaic pattern. Vegetation will be reduced to a mulch treatment per specifications. START DATE: Desired date for starting work is September 1, 2017 with 30 calendar days for completion. LOCATION: Rio Grande National Forest, Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande County in Colorado. Approximately 12 miles southwest of Del Norte, Colorado. Only Email submissions of quotes will be accepted. See Solicitation Section L-INSTRUCTIONS, CONDITIONS, AND NOTICES TO BIDDERS. Quotes are due May 22, 2017 by 2:00 pm via email only to kdecker@fs.fed.us. Offerors must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) FAR 52.204-7 and 52.212-1(k). Those who fail to meet these requirements will not be considered for award. Interested offerors are responsible for monitoring www.fbo.gov and any other pertinent information and for downloading their own copy of the solicitation package and any amendments. All Questions must be received No Later than May 9, 2017 @ 2:00 pm Mountain. All questions pertaining to this solicitation must contain reference to the solicitation number and must be submitted, in writing via e-mail to Contracting Officer Kim Decker at kdecker@fs.fed.us. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract nor does it obligate the Government to pay for bid/proposal preparation costs.
