Description
Solicitation for fence repair project The US Forest Service, Northern Research Station AQM intends to issue a contract for fence repair at two locations at the nursery annex located at 5985 County Highway K, Rhinelander, WI 54501. The Nursery Annex is located in the East Unit of the Rhinelander Experimental Forest and it includes a fenced, six-acre site that is being transitioned for nursery operations. The existing 8' high chain- link fence perimeter is approximately 5,360 feet in length, with 900 feet of interior fence, totaling 6,260 feet. This fence repair location requires immediate attention, with a redesign ( alignment) of the corner to eliminate safety and functional concerns as the snowmobile trail runs parallel along the north & east edge of the fence. The corner will have to be converted to a wide + or- 45 degree rounded corner rather than 90 degree corner for groomers and larger equipment to navigate the corner. The function of the fence, which is to keep out deer & secure the site is compromised in its current state due to these damages. The second portion of this contract requires repairs to any areas of fence that have holes greater than 8" x 8" in size by providing and installing patches in the fence and securing similar gauge & sized galvanized chain-link fencing with galvanized wire or galvanized hog rings to repair those areas. Any existing posts that are out-of-plumb must be moved "as close as possible" to the "plumb" position. Any posts that cannot survive the adjustment to the plumb mark and provide sturdy fence support shall be replaced. Any sections of fence that have repairs of greater magnitude may need to have whole sections of fence replaced and secured to existing posts assuming they are in usable condition. The date for the pre-bid/site visit is May 9th at 9:00 AM (Central Time)The successful company will be required to furnish all services, labor, and equipment, required to complete the project. The cost magnitude for this project is estimated less than $25K. The Government anticipates an award of a firm fixed priced contract. Proposals for are to be sent to Mike Ash at the address indicated in item 7 of the solicitation by at 2:00 PM Central Time, May 31th, 2017. Proposals can be mailed or express deliver to the address in Block # 7 Attn: Mike Ash or emailed mikeash@fs.fed.us The period of performance is anticipated to be for 30 days after receipt of notice to proceed (NTP). The intent is to have a contract awarded on or about June 5, 2017. This acquisition will be a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 238990 - All Other Specialty Trade Contractors and the size standard is $15 million average annual receipts for the preceding three fiscal years.
