- Description
- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract to Acrow Corporation of America for the procurement of one (1) 240 meter (m) Wet Gap LOCB System and two (2) 10m Fixed Pier Sets. The Acrow 240m LOCB (F) System (NSN: 5420-01-573-6114) is comprised of six 40m bridge spans, five floating pier assemblies, two 12m ramp sets, and all equipment (e.g. bearing components, jacking equipment, grillage, hand tools) necessary to safely construct and cantilever launch the bridge on prepared and unprepared abutments for wet gap vehicle crossings rated up to Military Load Classification (MLC) 80 Tracked (normal) and 110 Wheeled (caution). The Acrow 10m Fixed Pier Set consists of all components necessary to construct and emplace an intermediate pier to support the installation of 100m multi-span dry gap bridge for vehicle crossings rated up to military load classification (MLC) 80 Tracked (normal) and 110 Wheeled (caution). The Acrow 240m Wet Gap Bridge System and 10m Fixed Pier Sets are employed to restore and maintain Main Supply Routes (MSRs) for heavy volumes of civilian and military traffic. Units remain operationally proficient from Pre-Deployment Training & Exercise (PDT&E) events. Currently, the Acrow Wet Gap Bridge is the only commercial LOCB (float) instructed during PDT&E events. Procurement of commercial bridging equipment from other manufacturers will require training development, and result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling operational requirements. All components and assemblies of the Acrow modular bridging systems are developed and manufactured by Acrow Corporation of America - Parsippany, New Jersey. The Government does not possess the technical data to facilitate a competitive acquisition. Disclaimer: This is a sources sought notice and is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the information contained in this posting or information received as a result of this posting. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which the agency will consider.
