Contract clauses and provisions This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items and is prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 126 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotas are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation, FA8524-17-R-0017, is being conducted as a Request for Proposal (RFP). This solicitation will be solicited under Limited Competition. SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD: NAICS: 334511 No Of Employees: 1250 REQUIREMENT: CLIN 0001: Short Shaft, NSN 1615-01-235-7920 P/N 204-040-433-101 This is a one-time, firm- fixed-price contract Quantity: 18 Manufacturer: Bell Helicopter Textron, DBA: Bell Helicopter Upon conclusion of market research, the only sources that are known to the Government as having the qualifications, authority, and capability to satisfy this AF requirement are Kamatics Corporation (CAGE 50632), and BHT (CAGE 97499). Justification for Limited Competition: The Pinion Assembly is a Bell Helicopter-designated primary part and is a component part of the Generator Quill Assembly which is an aviation Critical Safety Item. Such key characteristics are forgings and raw materials which, according to the engineering drawing, require Bell source qualification. DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this requirement is to purchase spares for the following parts in support of the UH-1N Helicopter Programs: NSN 1615-01-235-7920 P/N 204-040-433-101. The Agency's need is to support and ensure that the operational mission of the UH-1N helicopter programs are successfully accomplished as a result of procuring the parts identified in this document. The Short Shaft transmits power from the engine freewheeling assembly to the main rotor, tail rotor, and transmission mounted accessories. It accommodates parallel and angular misalignment as well as axial length changes between the two components as the main rotor transmission moves in response to rotor loads. The driveshaft consists of end adapters, flexural elements and connecting shafting as required to mate with the transmission and engine drive adapters and transmit power. This part is an Aviation Critical Safety Item (CSI). The detailed mechanical design of the driveshaft assembly is devised by each vendor, subject to the requirements of BHT Procurement Specification 204-040-433 and applicable referenced specifications, publications, and drawings. The requirements of the Procurement Specification are detailed only to the extent necessary to obtain the desired mechanical characteristics, performance, and permanency of the assemblies. Assemblies furnished in accordance with the Procurement Specification must have passed the specified qualification tests. DELIVERY: Required delivery is 90 days after contract award; The Ship To address is: SW3119 DLA Distribution Warner Robins. 435 Byron Street Bldg 376, Robins AFB GA 31098-1887. Early delivery acceptable at no additional cost to the US Government. The point of inspection and acceptance is Origin. FOB is Origin. Price should be FOB Origin. In addition to price and delivery, quota should include your cage code, DUNS number, and taxpayer ID number. Please do not request award status prior to this date. The USAF requests that you prepare and submit your offers electronically. Hard Copies will not be accepted. Email is the preferred method.
