- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract to Communications and Power Industries (CPI), 811 Hansen Way, Palo Alto CA. The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC) has a requirement for repair of Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) Klystron tubes. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. The FAA intends to purchase repair services for the TDWR Klystron tubes which were manufactured by CPI. CPI exclusively owns the data rights for this Klystron tube and has not authorized any other vendor to repair these tubes. The proposed NAICS code for this acquisition is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a size standard of $20.5M. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
