Description
STATEMENT OF WORK Replace Cooling Tower Condenser Water Pumps # 7 & 9 The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, parts, transportation and equipment to provide a complete replacement of two (2) Motors: Bf43A/H040V2BLF and two (2) Pumps Layne/ Vertiline 204523 at Cooling Towers near Bldg. 2, Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, 510 E. Stoner Avenue, Shreveport, LA in accordance with all terms, conditions, provisions, schedules and specifications of this statement of work. Scope of Work: It is the intent to replace the specified components on the facilities primary cooling Tower. Ensure that the equipment and components are operational within industry and manufacturer s tolerances and recommendations. Contractor must ensure all appropriate safety precautions are taken before, during and after the completion of the project. Contractor will meet with Engineering Supervisor and Safety Managers to review the pick plan and discuss outage timeframes and procedures. Facility staff will isolate chilled water flow. Contractor and facility staff will ensure all services have been properly shutoff before disconnection of any supply/return piping. Contractor will remove existing pumps and motor assemblies and crane lift/install new pumps and motors. Remove all electrical connections and control wiring from the motor units. Ensure lock out/tag outs have been installed on electrical panels. Disconnect all piping connections and cover all pipe openings so no foreign debris will containment water circuits. Disconnect all mounting supports. Using a capable carne and operator, lift the motors and pumps off the cooling tower platform and place it on owner supplied pallets on the ground level. All crane work will be accomplished during owner specified hours. Pick plan will be presented to the owners representative for approval. Once the degraded motors and pumps have been removed, lift the new pumps and motors onto the cooling tower platform. Install the new pumps and motors in the configuration as the old units. Ensure the new units are properly mounted and stable. Install all supply/return piping and electrical wiring to the new motors and pumps. Remove all lock out/tag out devices and apply the appropriate utilities. Leak test all water connections for any water discharge. Startup the new motors and pumps and verify proper operation. Owner will keep old pumps and motors for future rebuild. Contractor will restore job site to original condition. Meet with owner representatives about the quality control, results and recommendations. The contractor will coordinate all maintenance visits through the Contracting Officer s Representative (COR). All work shall be accomplished during after duty hours 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, Friday evening through Sunday evening, excluding federal holidays. Any testing requiring disruption of utilities shall be accomplished between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on consecutive nights or weekend days until such work is completed. Contractor shall work the entire period during these outages to reduce the number of nights required to accomplish such work at a minimum. Specific scheduling and phasing shall be coordinated with VA representative at least seven workdays prior to first night time outage. The following are federal holidays: New Year s Day Labor Day Martin Luther King Jr. s Birthday Columbus Day President s Day Veteran s Day Memorial Day Thanksgiving Day Independence Day Christmas Day
