This synopsis neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government from an ultimate acquisition approach. This synopsis should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. Requests for solicitation will not receive a response. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any input as a result of this market survey. The U.S. Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division is seeking potential sources and pricing for Polypropylene Charge Containers which are cylindrical, plastic containers 10.8" inside diameter by 13.8" inside height with a conductive coating that has to be applied to all interior and exterior surfaces. A conductive plastic is also acceptable for fabricating the container as long as the resistance requirement of Dwg 7428235 (attached) is met. One end of the container is open to the full diameter, while the other end contains a booster well with metal screws installed, to accommodate a booster well cover. The booster well cover has a 1" diameter hole to accommodate a plastic stuffing tube. The stuffing tube shall be supplied with the finished container. On the exterior of the closed end are 4 equally spaced lifting eyes to aid in handling operations. About 4" - 6" below the open container end is a ¼" - 1" wide rib pressed to a 1/16" - 3/16" depth indented along the entire interior circumference. Last but not least is a plastic lid which fits inside the open end of the container. It measures 10.75" outside diameter with a 1.25" flanged lip. The lid shall be supplied as a piece part with the finished container. We are seeking a quantity of 450 to 550 containers.
