Description
Statement of Work Equipment being ordered: Bladder Scanner, Rolling Cart, Rechargeable Battery and Charger for the Show Low CBOC Transaction number: Please provide the following information clearly and precisely. Description of what the equipment being requested is: Bladder Scanner with cart, rechargeable battery and charger, and thermal paper to do bladder scanning and training within the clinic. It is going to be used as part of urinary retention program. The bladder scanner allows staff to scan the patient s bladder in clinic to determine if continued catheterization is needed. Helps to develop individualized toileting or Foley catheter placement schedules based on each patients bladder function pattern and urinary retention at fixed times, such as every two hours, saving staff valuable time. The bladder scanner is a quick, safe and non- invasive way to measure bladder volume and post-void urinary retention. This can easily be done in the primary care clinic setting, avoiding need for specialty consultation to Urology. This equipment decreases patient wait times while identifying abnormalities. It benefits the facility by helping to improve patient care, reducing the frequency of catheterization, saving staff time, and decreases overall expense.. The period of performance is 30 days after receipt of award. Description of how the equipment being requested operates: Should calculate results in less than 5 minutes Latex Free With printer Warranty Scans bladder at bedside Where will the equipment being requested be used: Show Low CBOC Who will be using the equipment being requested: Primary Care Providers and Nurses at CBOC. Equipment should be delivered to Phoenix VAHCS 650 E. Indian School Rd Phoenix AZ 85012 Additional Information: Equipment can store, print and collect personal information. BAA is required. The C&A requirements do not apply, and therefore a Security Accreditation Package is not required per VA Handbook 6500.6 Appendix A as this acquisition does not require services that involve connection of one or more contractor-owned IT devices (such as a laptop computer or remote connection from a contractor system) to a VA internal trusted (i.e., non-public) network. For VA Handbook 6500.6 Appendix A, number 7, the Bladder Scanner machine does have the capability to store sensitive data. The machine can hold information on its hard drive. The standard operation in our clinics is that no information is kept on the hard drive machine. The information is uploaded into the system and the information is cleared from the machine immediately after upload. A BAA is necessary
