- Request for Information/Notice of Intent to Sole Source This is a notification that Naval Special Warfare (NSW) intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract to Steelcase Inc. CH-2W-SS (GSA) C/O Creative Office Environments, under the statutory authority of FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B). NSW requires the procurement of office furniture, to include the repurposing and reconfiguration of existing office furniture to meet renovation requirements. The planned renovation will include repurposing and reconfiguring existing furniture, in addition to the procurement of additional modular office furniture to meet NSW office space needs. The existing modular office furniture is manufactured by Steelcase. Steelcase Inc. C/O Creative Office Environments (a small business) was determined to be the only authorized Steelcase vendor in the area with compatible modular units that would allow for existing furniture to be reconfigured and repurposed. No other known vendor has the capability to meet the Government's requirement. The supplies/services will be acquired in accordance with the format prescribed in FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 337214. The size standard is 1,000 employees. Steelcase Inc. C/O Creative Office Environments is currently the only known vender that can provide the required supplies and services necessary to meet the minimum requirements of this effort. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. The contractor identified is the only known source for the subject requirement. Responses to this notification will be used to determine if bonafide competition exists. Any such responses must be in writing and include technical capability information, which shall demonstrate contractor's ability to complete effort within required time. The Government will not pay for information submitted. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement action, based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses must be received no later than 8:00AM EST, May 5, 2016. Verification of receipt of electronic transmission is the sole responsibility of the contractor. If no valid responses are received, an award shall be made to Steelcase Inc. C/O Creative Office Environments.
