Description
Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Xenex Disinfection Services (DUNS: 039302870), pursuant to FAR part 12, FAR subpart 13.5, and specifically FAR 13.106-1(b)(2), for purchases exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. The proposed sole source purchase order is for lease to purchase agreement of two (2) Xenex Pulsed Xenon LightStrike Robots, manufactured and distributed by Xenex Disinfection Services, LLC (DUNS: 039302870), to the VA Hunter Holmes McGuire Medical Center (Richmond VAMC) in Richmond, Virginia. The NAICS code for this contract action is 339113, Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing, with a SBA Size Standard of 750 employees. The Product Service Code for this action is W065, Lease or Rental of Equipment- Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies. The facility currently uses the Xenex Pulsed Xenon UV disinfection device for room disinfection procedures. The medical center staff have been trained on its use and the device has been authorized for use by infection control authorities at the facility. This procurement action will result in sole source award to the manufacturer, Xenex Disinfection Services, LLC (DUNS: 039302870), to ensure standardization with existing equipment. Xenex has distributors, but the distribution agreements exclude equipment lease agreements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Wednesday, May 3, 2017, 08:00PM EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Daniel Spaulding, Contract Specialist, at daniel.spaulding@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
