- Fort Belvoir Community Hospital has a requirement to provide ongoing maintenance and software support/upgrades for the Automated Medicine Storage and Retrieval Systems used at the Main Hospital and Post Exchange (PX) Pharmacies. The Government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from GSL Solutions, Inc, the manufacturer of this equipment. Only the OEM can provide this service because it holds the proprietary data, software and troubleshooting tools required to keep the equipment operational. Additionally, only GSL Solutions technicians are factory trained and certified to maintain the equipment. Servicing by any firm other than GSL Solutions would void any existing warranties and the safe use of the system could no longer be assured. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations and a solicitation will not be issued. Prospective offerors are advised that because there are no other known sources, the agency has authorized the procurement of these services under other than full and open competition under FAR 6.3. However, interested responsible sources may submit a capability statement for the agency's consideration in determining whether a competitive procurement should be conducted in the future for this service. A copy of the Justification and Approval will be posted no later than 14 days after award.
