- This amendment is to provide notice of site conditions to the Contractors for the Swan Lake Pre-proposal tour. A Pre-Proposal Site visit will be conducted on May 4, 2017. The tour will start at 9 a.m. at the REPUBLIC RANGER STATION at 650 East Delaware Ave in Republic WA. Please RSVP to Cathy VanAlyne at cvanalyne@fs.fe.us with your intent to attend and the pre-proposal tour prior to May 3, 207 at 3:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please provide them to Cathy so your question may be answered during the tour. Conditions: Forest Service Road 5300 Scatter Cr Road is currently impassable due to spring storms. Access for the pre-proposal site visit is planned from State Highway 20 West of Republic to County Road 217 to County Road 212 to Forest Service Road 5330 to Forest Service Road 5300 which ends at the Swan Lake Campground. Four-wheel drive is recommended for pre-proposal tour due to the wet road conditions. The lower portion of Scatter Cr Road is scheduled to be reopened by June 30, 2017. When it reopens it will provide paved access to campground with a few short segments of gravel surfacing. The pre-proposal tour will involve hiking approximately 2 miles to see both structure locations, crossing a log over water at MP 0.96 site, and walking through shallow water on trail.
