- PRE SOLICITATION NOTICE Requirement: The intent of this contract is to secure services for performing cutting (hand and/or mechanical felling), skidding/yarding of material to landings, and decking and piling material on national forest land within the Baseball Project Area on the Mendocino National Forest. Contract objectives are to reduce fuel loads and competing vegetation to crop trees along with reducing the potential for wildfire to destroy the stands. The project area is located on the Mendocino National Forest, Covelo Ranger District with units located in Township 22 North, Range 10 West, Sections 13, 14, 23, and 24. Set Asides: This procurement is being solicited as a small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 113310. The related small business size standard is 500 employees. Solicitation Info: Solicitation is being conducted under FAR Part 13. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered. The anticipated posting of this solicitation is on or about May 3, 2017. Site Visit: An organized site visit is scheduled for May 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Location: Eel River Work Center 34950 Mendocino Pass Rd. Covelo, CA 95428 Contact: Nick Mouthaan at 707-275-1447 or nmouthaan@fs.fed.us. RSVP is advised if you'd like to be notified in the event of meeting cancellation. No Government transportation will be provided. This project is effected by seasonal road closures. Estimated dates of locked gates are between January 2nd through May 25th due to seasonal road closures. No assess will be granted without government approval. Inquiries: All contractual and technical questions must be submitted in writing via email to tmarino@fs.fed.us or fax to 530-226-2474. No telephone questions will be accepted. It is recommended that they be submitted no later than 3 calendar days prior to the closing date of the solicitation. Questions received after that time may not receive a response. Notifications: In accordance with FAR 5.102(d), the government is limiting the availability of the solicitation to electronic medium through this posting to FBO.gov. Notification of any postponements and any amendments to this solicitation will be posted on this website. It is the sole responsibility of the quoter to continually view this website for any amendments made to this solicitation. Award notifications will be made to this notice. Early notification will not be made to any quoter except Awarded Contractor.
