Washington DC 20006 To all Offerors/Bidders VA101V-17-Q-0175 04-18-2017 X X X 1 Tuesday, May 9, 2017 @ 2:00 PM EST The purpose of this amendment is to: Post question and answers. (2) Extend the due date for receipt of quotes. Quotes are now due by Tuesday, May 9, 2017 @ 2:00 PM EST. Heather Hampton Contracting Officer Questions and Answers VA101V-17-Q-0175 A00002 NOTE: All responses are in bold. Question 1: The Statement of Work is confusing as to what exactly needs to be disassembled, crated and delivered to the warehouse?   The Performance Requirements are stated as follows: Work includes the dismantling of twenty-eight (28) shelves of the HDF in an organized and protective manner; tagging of the system s electrical system so that it can be easily re-installed at a future date; palletizing of the parts for safe transportation and storage; and transportation and delivery and storage; and transportation and delivery to a warehouse in Carolina, PR (exact location to be provided at a later date). The system must be disassembled in a manner that would allow the VA to re-use the equipment. But the System Specifications show that the unit consists of 24 carriages; file size shelves; and 85,000 linear inches of storage capacity. What do you mean by   Work includes the dismantling of twenty-eight (28) shelves of the HDF? Are there a certain number of carriages that need to be dismantled or just shelves? Answer 1: The correct number of carriages to be dismantled is twenty-eight (28), to include all of the incorporated shelving. Question 2: The system has a recessed rail. Is the contractor required to do anything with the recessed rail (i.e. remove from the floor and crate it with the shelving), or is it to be left untouched? Answer 2:   Yes, the contractor is required to remove the recessed rails and crate it with the HDF for transport to the warehouse. Question 3: Who is responsible for the disconnection of the electric to the mobile system components that are to be disassembled, as this may affect how the remaining system operates?   Answer 3: NOTE: This answer is a correction to the answer that was provided to Question #10 in the attachment (Questions and Answers) to the original solicitation. The selected Contractor will be responsible for the disconnection of the electric to the file system components that are to be disassembled. Question 4: Please confirm the winning bidder does not need to remove the existing track embedded in the concrete floor. Answer 4: Please see the response to question number 2. Question 5: Regarding palletizing of the parts for safe transportation.   Do the Pallets have to be constructed so as to be stackable at the VA warehouse?   Answer 5: The VA s preference is that the pallets are stackable, but this is not mandatory. Question 6: Will the VA allow workers to bypass the normal in-processing location so that they can go directly to the Guaynabo Loading Dock adjacent to the Job Site?   Answer 6: No, the VA will not allow workers to bypass the normal in-processing location. All workers must check-in through the main entrance (Security Guard/Checkpoint) every day at the beginning and at the end of their scheduled work hours. No bypass is allowed - once the contractor employees check in they are allowed to go the Loading Dock (adjacent to the job site). END
