- SYNOPSIS: AXIOM OPTICS AT IMAGINE OPTIC LASER BEAM PROFILING CAMERA This synopsis is issued in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(2) and FAR 5.207. This proposed action is for the procurement of Axiom Optics at Imagine Optic Laser Beam Profiling Camera. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). This proposed procurement will be a sole source award under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 333314: Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing. Business size standard for NAICS 333314 is 500 employees. PSC code: 6650 - Optical Instruments, Test Equipment, Components and Accessories. Delivery Schedule: 4 Weeks after Contract Award Delivery Destination: AFIT/ENP 2950 Hobson Way Bldg. 640, RM 219F Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433 Requirement: AFIT is tasked with exploring the laser output of the Near Infrared (NIR) band of the spectrum which covers a wavelength of 900-1800nm with high accuracy. In order to yield a good extraction of the modal content, high signal to noise and high resolution are required. To perform this task, AFIT is need of a Laser Beam Profiling Camera that can also reduce the temperature to about 5 degrees Celsius which reduces the dark noise that accounts for a significant source of noise. The proposed source is Axiom Optics at Imagine Optic, 50 Milk St. 16th Floor Boston, MA 02109. This procurement will not be competed because Axiom Optics is the only vendor that offers a laser beam profiling camera that reaches the spectral wavelength of 900-1800nm, compatible with AFIT's pulsed laser system of 1 kHz and reduce the temperature to 5 degrees Celsius. The Government will award a contract to the responsible Offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. Technical Capability and Price will be used to evaluate all offers. The Department of Defense (DoD) has determined the System for Award Management (SAM) to be the single point of DoD registration for contractors who conduct business or who are interested in conducting business with the government.
