- Description
- Map 3 of 3 Map 2 of 3 Map 1 of 3 Wage Determination Fire Plan Solicitation This is a combined solicitation /synopsis for the below listed work. The solicitation is available here for downloading due to the fact that it is 54 pages long. Description of Work: The intent of this contract is to secure forestry related services, i.e. conifer cutting with chainsaw or by hand with loppers and disposal of cut material through lopping and scattering, on 1,330 acres of conifer-invaded shrub steppe ecosystems to improve bi-state sage grouse habitat on the Mammoth and White Mountain Ranger Districts of the Inyo National Forest in Mono County, CA. Optional units may be awarded totaling 3,237 acres during the life of the contract dependent on funding. There will be no perscribed site visit. Vendors are encouraged to go and view the area that is the submject of the solicitation. Description : The project areas are generally identifiable by changes in vegetation, roads, flagging, or through geographical information systems (GIS) data. The boundaries can be adjacent timber stands, recent harvest units, or other natural or manmade features that clearly define the boundary as noted on the project area maps. In most cases the interior and exterior boundaries of the project areas will be flagged with red or blue flagging or otherwise described below or by Contracting Officer’s Representative (from now on COR). If there is any discrepancy on the boundaries of individual work areas within units the COR must be contacted as soon as possible and no more work must take place until the discrepancy is resolved. Units 1 and 2: Vegetation in all units is typical of the southwestern Great Basin, and consist of a diverse mix of pinyon pine, Jeffrey pine, juniper, sagebrush, bitterbrush, rabbitbrush, Mormon tea, grasses, and forbs. Slopes range from 0 – greater than 20 percent. Units are approximately 7,500 feet elevation above sea level. Exclusions (non-work areas): Control areas, if present; and limitations on work performed will be noted in C.5 Restrictions on Work and delineated on the ground by orange and white candy cane flagging on the boundaries and/or pink tags stapled on vegetation at breast height facing away from the site. Accessibility: Access routes are shown on the project area maps. The project areas can and will be accessed from established highways and Forest system roads. Work vehicles and equipment will be parked on Forest Service land unless prior arrangements have been made by the Contracting Officer. In most cases project areas will be accessible by 2WD; however, some terrain may necessitate the use of a four-wheel drive, high-clearance vehicle.
