Description

In accordance with FAR 5.301, the award notice for this action is hereby synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities Page and the justification made publicly available. On February 8, 2017 the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) entered into Contract VA118-17-C-1803 with First Databank, Inc. (FDB) located at 500 E. 96th Street, Ste 500, Indianapolis, IN 46240. The contract was issued under on a sole-source basis to renew licenses and procure additional modules with licenses for the comprehensive pharmacy database and associated decision support tools. The COTS database provides for clinical decision support used in the VA Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) system, as well as the pharmacy packages. These clinical decision support tools are required for medication order checks such as drug-drug interactions, duplicate therapy, and dosing. These order checks are vital to the mission of VA and will place patients at significant risk if they are not available. The total contract value is $10,515,070.04, with $3,600,000.00 being obligated at time of award. The period of performance was from date of award through January 16, 2018, with one subsequent 12-month option and several optional tasks for additional modules.
