- This is a sources sought request for information to conduct line of communication bridge (LOCB) market research to better understand existing industrial manufacturing capabilites/innovations and to help structure anticipated requests for proposal to align with available industry production and delivery capabilities. This sources sought notice is issued for informational and planning purposes only. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The 411th Contracting Support Brigade is seeking information concerning the availability of capable contractors to provide LOCB sets and components in the quantities and time frames as outlined in the attached DRAFT solicitation/statement of work. If your firm is capable of providing the requirements described in the attached DRAFT solicitation/statement of work attached to this RFI please provide a capability statement to SSG Scott Voigt at email: scott.w.voigt2.mil@mail.mil or CPT Ian Hertig at ian.s.hertig.mil@mail.mil. The capability statement should include general information and technical background describing your firm's experience in contracts requiring similar efforts. All interested vendors please respond to the following requests for information - a. How many MLC 100, LOC-B spans and requisite components for continuous fixed and float bridging can you deliver to the Korean Theater of Operations (KTO) over a 90 day period and at what time intervals? b. What are the primary and alternate points of embarkation that would be used to move LOC-Bs to the KTO? c. Will sufficient bridge components arrive as a usable set in order to ensure quick availabiity of multi-span bridge sets? d. How will the componets be containerized if your're utilizing 20ft containers as much as possible (how many 20ft and 40ft per component)? e. Weight of the heaviest container? f. What is the quickest emplacement time for a 40m dry gap span? Wet gap span? g. Is LOC-B float bridging able to be ordered by sub-component (i.e., float set, float span junction, float span, ect.)? If so what would they be? h. Are there currently any other bridging systems/solutions that could be used in lieu of the LOC-B to meet the KTO mission requirements?
