- This is a notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Rexel, Inc. issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District for software technical support for Rockwell/Allen Bradley SCADA components at the Washington Aqueduct located in Washington, DC. In connection with its potable water treatment program, the Washington Aqueduct Division maintains a computer based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to monitor and control the extensive water treatment process. Many of the components, parts, and processors used in the infrastructure controlled by the SCADA system are Rockwell/Allen Bradley brand. In order to control the operation and functioning of those parts the Washington Aqueduct acquired Rockwell/Allen Bradley software (TechConnect) which has been incorporated into the SCADA system. TechConnect software will provide the Washington Aqueduct with access to the necessary software maintenance, online support and real-time support options for its Rockwell/Allen Bradley products and software incorporated in the SCADA system. There is no competition as Rexel, Inc. is Rockwell/Allen Bradley's designated distributor for parts and services in this region. Information received in response to this special notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to not compete the proposed acquisition is within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation or quote package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by 11:00 AM, 12-MAY-2017 shall be considered by the Government.
