- ALEP Block 3 Comment Resolution Matrix (CRM) Attachment 2 ALEP Block 3 Requirements 5May17 ALEP 3 RFI DD 254 Continuation Sheet Attachment 1 ALEP 3 RFI DD 254 ALEP Block 3 Sources Sought 8May17 This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) only. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Human Systems Program Office (AFLCMC/WNU) is conducting market research to identify, as potential sources, companies that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to respond to the requirements listed in this document for the Aircrew Laser Eye Protection (ALEP) Block 3 development program. Human Systems Program Office (AFLCMC/WNU) is issuing this SSS to explore cost effective options to provide the development, testing, and potential production of the next generation of United States Air force (USAF) Laser Eye Protection (LEP) and to obtain valuable feedback in regards to the attached Requirements Matrix. This SSS is issued solely for information and planning purposes. The USAF is looking to identify firms with the capability to develop, manufacture, test, and deliver ALEP Block 3 production articles in the required formats. These formats include spectacles, visors, ballistic spectacle, Joint Service Aircrew Mask (JSAM) Strategic Airmask (SA) visor, and JHMCS visor. This effort shall include all development, management and technical support, quality assurance, planning, material and production support, as well as facilities for this production. The USAF anticipates a follow-on purchase of both low-rate production articles and a full-rate production purchase of ~35,000 ALEP Block 3 items (in various formats). A portion of the performance specifications are classified. Requests for classified information must be submitted to the contracting officer along with evidence of the required facility and personnel security clearances at or above the SECRET level.
