Source Sought/Request for Information (RFI) for Market Research Purpose This Request for Information is in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.215-3 - Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997). (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although "proposal" and "offeror" are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of market research/request for information only. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Government is updating market research to identify companies that may possess the capabilities to provide the following for the Document Archiving and Networking/IT Support for United Nations Command (UNCMAC) in Korea: This requirement is to obtain one (1) full time employee who is capable of performing dedicated, professional, and on-site personnel support for document archiving to a dedicated archival server and LAN administration at 6 UNCMAC-S locations around Korea. The document archiving shall be performed for United Nations Command Armistice negotiations documents that are stored at Camp Bonifas. The archiving process shall be conducted in the Office provided the Contractor by the government at Yongsan. These documents shall be digitized and managed electronically on a dedicated storage server. The documents shall be archived in a way that authorized personal can locate documents by conducting word searches. The LAN Administration Area of coverage will include all 6 United Nations Command Local Area Network Located at Yongsan, JSA, Unification Observatory located on the East Coast, and Observation Post Dora located on the West Coast. Contractor shall possess a SECRET clearance Task to be performed: - Archive documents using methods as to not damage old pages, books, papers and photos. Handling and scanning shall be done with care as to not destroy them. - Scan United Nations Command documents onto a server and new location after transformation at Yongsan from original paper copy documents. - Create and maintain electronic documents indexes so that they may be able to be retrieved quickly by conducting word searches. - LAN Administration (1 FTE): o Provide on-site network engineering support for the following network equipment:  One server - One server is an unclassified server that is limited to only 5-10 users. The other server supports 75-80 users on the LAN.  30-35 printers - Re-configure all networked PCs to conform to the USFK standard unclassified PC and software configuration. - Update all software and hardware configuration management records. Maintain software and hardware configuration management records. - Provide class dates to user for training in the Microsoft Office Suite for Office 2007/10 at the Area NEC (schedule will be provided to contractor by the Area NEC within 30 days after implementing). - Provide class dates to user for training in Exchange usage for either Exchange Client or Outlook 2007/10 at the Area NEC. - Assist in resolving system architecture issues of the LAN. - Maintain hardware inventory in the FIP/FMS request appropriate service calls to the area NEC. - Recommend changes to software and hardware to minimize expenditures and provide growth into the future. - Maintain software licensing records. - Coordinate Exchange E-mail additions, deletions, or E-mail changes. Firm's response to this Synopsis shall be limited to 5 pages and shall include the following information: 1. Firm's name, address, point of contact, phone number, and e-mail address. 2. Firm's capability to perform a contract of similar service within the last 5 years. Brief description of the service, customer name, timeliness of performance, customer satisfaction, and dollar value of the service) or firm's capability report or a literature that demonstrates the capability to perform this requirement. Interested Firm's shall respond to this request for information/market research no later than 1:00 pm KST on 12 May 2017.
