N00164-17-S-NB97 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION - HI IMPACT SHIPBOARD SHOCK TEST - NAICS Code 541380 FSC H258 Issue Date 09 MAY 2017 - Closing Date 09 JUN 2017 - Time 1700 EDT MARKET SURVEY - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION / SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: The Government is issuing this request for information/sources-sought announcement as part of a market research. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division is interested in receiving information from vendors who can meet the following criteria: 1) Approved vendor in accordance with NAVSEAINST 9491.1C, Locations of Approved Class HI Shock Testing Facilities. 2) Can meet Motion/Attitude Testing requirements of DOD-STD-1399 Section 301A as follows: a) Equipment to be tested shall be exposed to ship motion of sea state 8 per DOD-STD-1399 Section 301A. This is a non-operational test. b) Equipment to be tested shall be exposed to ship motion of sea state 5 per DOD-STD-1399 Section 301A. This is an operational test. c) Equipment specifications: a. Approximate Size: 51" L x 38.5" H x 46.27" W b. Approximate Weight: 225 lbs. c. Power: 115VAC, 60 Hz, 3-phase delta and 115VAC, 400 Hz, single phase 3) Can meet Vibration Testing requirements of MIL-STD-167-1A as follows: a) Equipment to be tested shall be exposed to MIL-STD-167-1A Type I - Environmental Vibration up to 25 Hz. b) Equipment (1): 1. Approximate Size: 51" L x 38.5" H x 46.27" W 2. Approximate Weight: 225 lbs. 3. Power: 115VAC, 60 Hz, 3-phase delta and 115VAC, 400 Hz, single phase c) Equipment (2): 1. Approximate Size: 25" L x 40" W x 80" H 2. Approximate Weight: 1400 lbs. 3. Power: 115VAC, 60 Hz, single phase and 115VAC, 400 Hz, single phase d) Equipment (3): 1. Approximate Size: 65" D x 50" H x 110" W 2. Approximate Weight: 3000 lbs. (without test fixture) 3. Power: 115VAC, 60 Hz, single phase 4) Can meet Shipboard Shock Testing requirements of MIL-S-901D as follows: a) Obtain standard MIL-S-901D explosives after the completion of the explosive release form by the appropriate representative. b) Equipment shall be shock tested in accordance with MIL-S-901D, grade A, Class I, type A, unrestricted. c) Class I/II equipment shall be tested in a deck mounted configuration on the deck simulated fixture. Class I/II and other equipment shall be test at the following frequencies: 1. 14 (± 2 Hz) 2. 8 (± 2 Hz) 3. 25 (± 2 Hz) 4. 10 (± 2 Hz) 5. Equipment (1): a. Approximate Size: 25" L x 40" W x 80" H b. Approximate Weight: 1400 lbs. c. Power: 115VAC, 60 Hz, single phase and 115VAC, 400 Hz, single phase 6. Equipment (2): a. Approximate Size: 65" D x 50" H x 110" W b. Approximate Weight: 3000 lbs. (without test fixture) c. Power: 115VAC, 60 Hz, single phase d) Other equipment shall be tested in a mast mounted configuration. Equipment specifications: 1. Approximate Size: 51" L x 38.5" H x 46.27" W 2. Approximate Weight: 225 lbs. 3. Power: 115VAC, 60 Hz, 3-phase delta and 115VAC, 400 Hz, single phase All capable and qualified sources are encouraged to respond by providing the following: technical/contractual points of contact, address, telephone number, email address, duns number, cage code and or tax ID number, as well as business size category (large, small, small disadvantaged, etc.) Interested vendors should provide information regarding this announcement no later than 17:00 EDT on or before 09 JUN 2017 to Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division. This request for information/sources sought synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Quote (RFQ), or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the Government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract in connection with this announcement. The U.S. Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement.
