Description
Small Unmanned Aerial System (SUAS) Desired Design Characteristics This Sources Sought Notice (SS)/Request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes, and is NOT to be considered an invitation for bid, request for quotation, or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. This notice does NOT constitute a committment by the Government. The Government will NOT pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing the response to this sources sought. Any costs associated with this sources sought response submittal are solely at the interested parties' expanse. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the information they provide. No questions will be taken on the SS/RFI. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received. The information will be used to assist determination of sources capable of an electronic surveillance and electronic attack systems ahead of an upcoming test. The test event is fixed, therefore no late submissions will be accepted. Response Instructions Responses should be emailed to MAJ Clarke Brown, keirn.c.brown.mil@mail.mil/ and Eric Wierzba, eric.t.wierzba.ctr@mail.mil at the REF by the response date listed above. Description This request is for a Small Unmanned Aerial System (SUAS) that can be carried and operated by a single Soldier, capable of vertical take-off and landing, with the ability to view the tactical video feeds to fulfill the ISR needs of small maneuver units. The operating range of the SUAS should equal or exceed 1 kilometer, with a flight endurance time of at least 30 minutes (at or above 200ft MSL). The SUAS should also be capable of Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) as a primary flight method. The SUAS air vehicle should weight no more than 10 pounds. Additionally, the SUAS should be capable of operating at a minimum mission altitude of 200ft AGL. Additional desired design characteristics of the SUAS are outlined in the document Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS) Desired Design Characteristics that accompanied this RFI/SS. Purpose The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to assist in the determination of available products at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) six (6) and greater. TRL 6 is defined as representative model or prototype system tested in a relevant environment. Requested Information: The submitted documentation and content becomes the property of the United States Government and will not be returned. The Government will not reimburse costs associated with the documentation submitted under this request. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this inquiry. Although solicitation terminology may appear in this inquiry, your response will be treated as information only and will not be used as a proposal. This notice is part of Government market research. Information received as a result of this request will be considered as sensitive and will be protected as such. Any company or industry proprietary information contained in responses should be clearly marked as such, by paragraph, so that publicly releasable and proprietary information are clearly distinguished. Any proprietary information received in response to this request will be properly protected from unauthorized disclosure. The Government will not use proprietary information submitted from any one source to establish the capability and requirements for any future acquisition, so as to inadvertently restrict competition. Responses which do not clearly and completely address the below requested information and series of questions will be considered as submitted for general informational purposes only, and not considered a demonstration of intent to in future test events.
