Description
Best Value Solicitation Combined Synopsis The USDA, U.S. Forest Service, Intermountain Region - R4, Dixie National Forest has a need for a snowmobile to be used in trail grooming. The specs are as follows: Greater than 1000 cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled snow machine with low range gear. Also needs to have a minimum 3,000 lb. winch, a least two actuator switches (12 volt switches to operate grooming equipment), rear flood lights for grooming, beacon light and tow hitch. There are also two 2011 Ski-Doo Rotax 1200 Snowmobiles offered as trade in. Machine 0240 has 1,673 miles and has an issue with the clutch. The repair estimate is $35.00. Upholstery is intact and the overall state of the machine is excellent. Machine 0241 has 1,576 miles, and has possible debris in the fuel tank, estimated repair cost is $30.00. This machine is in excellent condition as well. Photos are available upon request. Making an offer on the trade in machines is not mandatory to make a bid, if you don't want the used machines, just provide a quote for the new snowmobile Problem or need: Describe in detail what work is required to be completed: Snow machine to groom cross-county ski trails. We currently groom with the Ski-doo Expedition 1200 cc snow machines. These sleds work until the temperature is about 30 degrees, then they over heat. They also are not equipped to groom at night (the optimal time to groom for best results. We need a snow machine designed for grooming that has a lower gear for grooming. We also need a machine that has an oversized radiator and that does NOT rely on a heat exchanger (the heat exchanger is between the track and the seat and uses the snow to cool the engine) to cool the engine. When grooming we move too slow to get snow on the heat exchanger, therefor we over heat.
