- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE - THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO CENGAGE LEARNING The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), intends to extend contract HE1254-15-D-0012 from 1 June 2017 through 31 May 2018 on a sole source basis to Cengage Learning. This firm-fixed requirements contract provides course materials for DoDEA's two-year nursing aide curriculum. The resources required include web-based courseware and related student print materials designed to prepare high school students for a career in the medical industry. The second course must build on the first course to include preparing students to obtain a Nurse's Aide certification. This action is necessary in order to prevent a gap in service, and provide sufficient time to competitively re-compete these curriculum requirements. Cengage Learning is the only source reasonably positioned to provide the course materials This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice no later than 10:00 a.m. ET, Monday, May 15, 2017 by email to robin.castoldi@eu.dodea.edu. All information submitted should support the offeror's capability to provide the items required, and shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to cancel the sole source award. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 511130 (Book Publishers). The size standard is 500 employees.
