- Statement of Work 1 This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. EMAIL INFORMATION TO : James.Vercoe@VA.GOV Suitable product must be compatible and be able to be used in conjunction with existing Aqua Pak 1070 Sterile Water Equipment being ordered: AquaTherm Adjustable Aerosol Heater Transaction number: 644-201-16-00005 Please provide the following information clearly and precisely. Description of what the equipment being requested is The Aquatherm III External Adjustable Electronic Heater is used as aerosol therapy for respiratory care in the treatment of bronchopulmonary disease. The major purpose of this is the delivery of medications or humidity or both to the mucosa of the respiratory tract and pulmonary alveoli. Agents delivered by aerosol therapy may act in a number of ways: (1) to relieve spasm of the bronchial muscles and reduce edema of the mucous membranes, (2) to render bronchial secretions more liquid so that they are more easily removed, (3) to humidify the respiratory tract, and (4) to administer antibiotics locally by depositing them in the respiratory tract. Description of how the equipment being requested operates: The Aquatherm III External Adjustable Electronic Heater system provide heated aerosol - Illuminated power switch - Adjustable aerosol temperature to meet varying patient needs. Where will the equipment being requested be used: The Aquathermr III External Adjustable Electronic Heater system is used by the Respiratory Therapist when the critical ill patient requires aerosol therapy: (1) to relieve spasm of the bronchial muscles and reduce edema of the mucous membranes, (2) to render bronchial secretions more liquid so that they are more easily removed, (3) to humidify the respiratory tract, and (4) to administer antibiotics locally by depositing them in the respiratory tract. in the pulmonary clinical setting as a diagnostic tool to provide the pulmonary physicians an accurate computerized interpretation/ assessment of Pre/Post FVC testing results. This is a invaluable tool in the management of the pulmonary patients that are presented in a clinical environment. Who will be using the equipment being requested: The Aquathermr III External Adjustable Electronic Heater system is used by the Respiratory Therapist to provide the needed aerosol therapy required as ordered. 5. Justification: The Pulmonary & Critical care Section is very short on this type of device. The Aquatherm III External Adjustable Electronic Heater is used as aerosol therapy for respiratory care in the treatment of bronchopulmonary disease. The major purpose of this is the delivery of medications or humidity or both to the mucosa of the respiratory tract and pulmonary alveoli.
