- Consultant Veterinary Medical Officer Support Services at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (CNVAMC), Augusta GA This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice for solicitation number VA247-17-R-0328. The resulting contract is for a contractor to provide Part-time Veterinarian Support Services to the VA Animal Research and Development Department Service Line at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical facilities in Augusta, GA. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this acquisition is 541940 Veterinary Services, $7.5 Million. This requirement will be issued as a Firm Fixed Priced Type contract for Small Business Set-Aside. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: a. Providing experienced laboratory animal veterinary coverage for an Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal (AAALAC) facility. b. Reviewing and consulting on new animal use protocols for suitability. c. Monitoring existing animal use protocols for compliance. d. Serving as a consultant to the veterinary representative on the CNVAMC animal care and use committee as needed. e. Monitoring animal welfare in the colony and recommending treatment as needed. f. Providing direct oversight on animal surgeries and complex procedures. g. Maintaining appropriate records of the above duties. h. Maintaining professional competency involving clinical skills and knowledge of laboratory animal medicine. Period of Performance is to begin June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2018 or date of award, with Four (4) one year option periods beginning June 1, 2018 through May 31, 2022. Place of Performance: Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (Uptown Division); 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, GA 30904 Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (Downtown Division); 950 15th Street, Augusta GA 30904 The solicitation will be issued on or about May 12, 2017. The estimated closing date is May 18, 2017. The solicitation will not be mailed out. All interested sources must go to the Federal Business Opportunity (FBO) website at: http://www.fbo.gov and obtain an electronic copy of the solicitation. Offerors are responsible to ensure their proposal package is received by the exact time and date at the specified location for receipt of proposals. In addition, offerors are responsible for continuing to monitor the websites for any/all future Amendments issued, if any. Offerors shall sign copies of any amendment issued and submit with their package. Offerors need to be registered in the System for Awardee Management (SAM.gov) and listed as a small business concern prior to submission of proposal. All Contractors MUST be registered in CCR and ORCA to do business with the federal government and annually ensure the information is current at the Business Partner Network http://www.bpn.gov.
