- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for the Concrete and Gate Repairs project at Ball Mountain Dam located in Jamaica, Vermont to determine the interest, availability and capability of 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238990. The project is planned to be issued on or about August 2017. The project will occur in the fall of 2017 and is expected to take about three months, including submittal approval. The estimated construction cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. This project consists of completing the following tasks: -Repair Damaged Concrete Curbs -Repair Cracks and Clean Concrete on Vertical Walls of Gatehouse -Remove Efflorescence from Interior of Gatehouse -Patch Concrete Spalls in Dam's Main Conduit -Remove, Clean, Paint, and Reinstall 3 Hydraulic Gates Ball Mountain Dam was constructed in 1957. The gate tower rises about 240 feet above the water level in the lake. The tower is accessible via a one lane vehicular bridge at the 210 foot level. There is a platform surrounding the tower at this same level. The exterior concrete repairs are in the 30 foot section between the platform and the roof and the work will require scaffolding and safety harnesses. The hydraulic gates are located at the bottom of the tower and the removal and reinstallation will require knowledge of hydraulic systems and the ability to remove and haul the large, heavy steel gates to a cleaning and painting facility. Note that there is an overhead crane in the gate tower to assist in removing the gates. The concrete patching in the conduits is also at the lowest level and is considered a confined space area. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (e.g. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work components stated above. Please include at least two specific examples of the firm's experience performing the work requirements stated above. The projects must have been performed within the last five years. Please indicate the team subcontractors that will be used to support the offeror's effort and include their prior experience and qualifications, if subcontractors are planned to be used. Proof of bonding capability is required. Responses are due June 1, 2017. Responses should be sent to: Mr. Lennie K. Mattis (Lennie.k.mattis@usace.army.mil). Responses are limited to twenty pages, interested firms shall provide the above documentation. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
