- The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Walla Walla District, is issuing this special notice to inform industry of the intent to solicit and negotiate solely with Craftech Industries, INC for the purchase of 15,000 ½-13 X 1 Button Socket Screws for Little Goose Lock and Dam. This is an urgent requirement due to build up on debris and trash along the backside of Little Goose Lock and Dam. A VBS mesh screen must be placed to allow the main intake unit to operate. Single sourcing this requirement is the best way for the Government to assure that delivery of the screws is accomplished within a short time frame. A determination not to compete this proposed contract has been made Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Soliciting from a Single Source. For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures, only one source is reasonable available. This action is to procure Ultem Button Socket Head Screws for use on the reinstallation of the vertical barrier screens (VBS). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 332722, Bolt, Nut, Screw, Rivet, and Washer Manufacturing. This notice of intent is not a formal solicitation or request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of quotations or offers received in response to this notice. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities no later than 9:00 AM Pacific Time on May 15, 2017. Faxed and e-mailed statements are acceptable, but the senders bear full responsibility to ensure complete transmission and timely receipt.
