Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY The United States Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (USACE, ERDC) Contracting Office, is conducting a Request For Information synopsis for market research information purposes only. This is not a solicitation announcement. Currently, no solicitation is available. This request for information does not commit the Government to pay any cost incurred in preparation of any submission to this Request For Information Notice. Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in partnership with the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is issuing this request for information (RFI) to gain awareness of the state-of-the-art in commercial off the shelf (COTS) modular housing systems designed to provide low logistical burden and energy efficient living/working space with some level of ballistic and/or fragmentation protection. Responses to this RFI will be two-part; with 1) submittal of the information requested herein using the attached format as a cover sheet with any additional related literature included, as appropriate, and 2) an opportunity to showcase the same system at a technology demonstration conducted at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. The information provided in the RFI response shall correspond and accurately depict the technologies to be on display at the technology demonstration. Responses to this RFI, in the form of literature submittal and technology display/demonstration, shall be provided at no cost to the Government. 1. Literature Submittal. Respondents are to submit the completed fact sheet using the attached form as a cover page to any additional literature that they wish to include that would provide further insight into this technology. Company literature or literature related to other technologies that do not address the focus of this RFI are discouraged. The response should directly inform the Government of the specific capabilities and metrics of the system; including energy efficiency, protection level (ballistic and/or fragmentation), density per square foot (aerial density), unit cost, standard unit dimensions, configurations, construction/assembly methods including duration (time to construct), durability, fire resistance, reusability and/or modularity. Respondents should craft their submittal with the understanding that cost, energy efficiency (R value) and protection levels are the key attributes under consideration. 2. Technology Display/Demonstration. Selected respondents will be invited to participate in a one day technology display and demonstration at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. A setup day will be allotted followed immediately by the technology demonstration day followed by a day of disassembly. A full-size system shall be required for the demonstration which is identical to that depicted in the literature submittal (part I). In addition, a one foot by one foot square (thickness can vary based on the particular system configuration) sample will also be required for display during the technology demonstration event. Any and all costs either direct or indirectly incurred by the respondent for "Literature Submittal" and "Technology Display/Demonstration" shall NOT be reimbursed or transferred to the Government. Fact Sheet Name of System: Company Name: Company Address: City: State: Zip:_ Point of Contact Information: Information Requirements (In Order of Importance to ERDC): a) System cost per single unit: b) Ballistic rating/fragmentation protection (UL 752, NIS 018.01, SD-STD-02.01) or other, if known: c) Areal density; weight per square foot: d) Energy efficiency in terms of R value: e) Installation/time/labor and machinery requirements for assembly/retrofit: f) Systems dimensions and Unit coverage: g) Weather/UV protection: Fact Sheet (cont.) Please provide a brief description of capabilities and construction methods for the technology that will be depicted at the demonstration event. You may attach any additional literature to further describe the technology beyond what is required on this fact sheet. Also include several photographs, not illustrations, upon submittal that depict the system and/or its components. Description Number of File Attachments: Number of Photographs:
