Technical Requirements Capacitive discharge, dual pulse type spotwelder capable of applying welds to the following materials and thicknesses: •a) Inconel 600 sheet metal ranging from.002" to.025" thick •b) Titanium sheet metal up to.020" thick · The welder must be capable of producing welds no larger than 3/16" in diameter and shall be capable of reliably producing at least 30 of these welds per minute. · The micro spotwelder must be programmable with the ability to save program schedules (weld pulse parameters). · The micro spotwelder must be capable of operating on 110/120V AC, 60 Hz electrical power from a standard North American NEMA-type outlet. · The welder must be capable of table top use. It must have a total footprint of no more than 300 square inches. · The welder must be suitable for use with a pressure actuated, ergonomic, pistol grip type handheld welder handpiece. The applied pressure at which the welder discharges must be adjustable and capable of being set to fire at a pressure between 5 to 10 lbs. · Due to an intended operating environment below deck on US naval vessels, the micro spotwelder shall be capable of passing all tests listed in Table 1 below, per MIL-STD-461F, Requirements for the Control of Electromagnetic Interference Characteristics of Subsystems and Equipment, without adverse effects. Test No. Description CE101 30 Hz through 10 KHz, performed on input power leads. CE102 10 KHz through 10 MHz, performed on input power leads. CS101 30 Hz through 150 KHz, performed on input power leads. CS106 Conducted Susceptibility Transients performed on input power leads. CS114 10 KHz through 200 MHz, performed on input power and interconnecting cables. CS116 10 KHz through 100 MHz, performed on input power and interconnecting cables. RE101 30 Hz through 100 KHz, performed on all enclosures, power, and interconnecting cables. RE102 10 KHz through 1 GHz, performed on all enclosures, power, and interconnecting cables. RS101 30 Hz through 100 KHz, performed on all enclosures, power, and interconnecting cables. RS103 2 MHz through 18 GHz, performed at 10 v/m on all enclosures, power and interconnecting cables. Table 1: List of relevant EMI tests. Test procedures and requirements outlined in MIL-STD-461F.
