- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has awarded Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract N00019-17-C-0062 to Abaco Systems, Inc., Huntsville, AL, for the procurement and delivery of seventeen (17) rugged Ethernet Switches in support of the operation, maintenance and sustainment of the MQ-8 Fire Scout system. This contract was awarded to Abaco Systems, Inc. in the amount of $234,430. This acquisition was conducted on a sole-source basis under statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. This effort is covered under the Justification and Approval (J&A) number 17-0148, 02 May 2017, attached.
