- Amendment 1, 1 page This project is being performed on the Lochsa-Powell Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests in collaboration with the Nez Perce Tribe Watershed program. This project is the second phase of a two phase construction plan. The work in Project B consists of construction of 1200 feet of new channel in the historic location; installing 210 linear feet of large wood habitat structure and 1030 linear feet of vegetated wood and brush fascines in the new channel; placing riverbed fill in the new channel to construct riffles and bedforms; activating the new channel and filling the old channel; excavating existing legacy mining tailings (approximately 11,300 CY of material), grading approximately 2.5 acres of floodplain, adding floodplain roughness and planting clump plants. In addition, trees and shrubs shall be salvaged and transplanted. Additional wood and slash will be hauled to the site from the Section 6 pit area 2.6 miles away and used to dress the floodplain and construct the large woody debris structures and vegetated wood and brush fascine. On-site soil deposits shall be salvaged for use during the current and future project implementation and sod shall be salvaged and transplanted in the newly constructed floodplain. Excess excavation will be hauled to the Section 6 rock pit. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, structures, supervision, transportation, operating supplies (except those designated as Government-furnished)and incidentals necessary to complete the project as required by the contract, plans, and specifications. The project site is located approximately 40.7 miles from Orofino, Idaho in Clearwater County. To reach the project site from Orofino, travel east on Highway 12 for approximately 8 miles to the junction with State Highway 11. Follow Highway 11 for 18 miles to Weippe. From Weippe follow the Musselshell Road east for 8.2 miles to Petersons Corner (at the bridge over Jim Brown Creek) and keep straight onto the paved FS Road 100. Travel 6.5 miles to the project site (2.4 miles from Musselshell Creek). If you approach the project site from Kamiah via FS Road 100, the site is located 3.5 miles past the Lolo Creek Campground The Government's construction estimate is between $250,000 and $500,000. A formal pre-bid tour will be held; see solicitation for details. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued in mid-April. Construction work on the project shall commence no earlier than July 1, 2017; all work shall be completed by September 30, 2017. All in-stream work must take place between July 15th and September 15th (this includes any crossing of the stream by equipment). Original bid bonds will be required. The acquisition has been set-aside for small businesses. Solicitation was issued on 4/19/2017. Organized site visit was held 5/4/17. Complete notes have been uploaded including the names of the attendees and the topics discussed/questions answered. Solicitation was amended on 5/16/17 to address a couple issues identified during the site visit. Deadline for offer receipt was extended. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of amendment.
