Description
Redacted J&A for AIM-9X FY15-19 sustainment and integrated logistics support. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) negotiated and awarded a 2-year Firm Fixed Price/Cost Plus Fixed Fee IDIQ contract modification to Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS), 1151 East Hermans Road, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337 for AIM-9X Missile Sustainment support requirements, to include post production services and depot level repairs for missile system hardware and software, as well as Government furnished equipment test assets, for FY 17-19. The Sustainment of the AIM-9X missile will provide depot maintenance and repair, lifecycle management support, engineering investigations, and induction and inspection of non-warrantied assets. NAVAIR awarded this procurement sole source based on the authority provided in FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. In 1996, Hughes Missile Systems Company (HMSC) (subsequently acquired by Raytheon Missile Systems) was competitively selected to be the designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the AIM-9X missile. As a cost-savings initiative, the Government did not procure a technical data package for reprocurement purposes and required Raytheon to retain configuration control of items not affecting the system specification.
