Government Estimate: Less than $25K Description of Work. The proposed project encompasses storing 0.741 miles of the NFSR 4732 road starting at the junction with the NFSR 4732D and r ecommissioning 0.432 miles of the NFSR 4732 road after the storage to the end of the road. The storage and decommissioning work includes removing stream crossing culverts, restoring the stream crossing, installing surface waterbars, cross channels, ditch drain waterbars, partial re-contouring, road decompaction, and seeding. Stream restoration includes salvaging rock during excavation, armoring and constructing grade control structures in the stream channels and constructing ditch drain waterbars on either side of the restored crossing. All culverts removed will be disposed of off the Kootenai National Forest. Proiect Location. All project work is on the Libby Ranger District, Kootenai National Forest. The project is located approximately 15 air miles northwest of Libby, Montana. Follow State Highway 68 northwest from Libby 18 miles to the junction with NFS Road 336, follow NFS Road 336 for 1.0 miles, take NFS Road 309 for approximately 3.5 miles to the junction with the NFS Road 754 for 1.0 miles, and turn on the NFS Road 4732. The project work is accessed from Road 4732. See project location map in the plans. Pre-Bid Conference and Tour. A pre-bid conference/tour will not be conducted. Perspective offerors are encouraged to visit the project site as weather permits. Motor vehicle access to closed roads in the project area is restricted and will not be permitted for pre-bid inspections. For questions, call Nate Marcoe at 406-283-7589. Start Work. It is estimated that work will begin on approximately July 15, 2017. Instream work cannot occur before July 15 due to fisheries concerns. Period of Performance. The Contractor will be required to (a) commence work under this contract within 10 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the notice to proceed, (b) notify the Contracting Officer (CO) of intent to begin work at least 48 hours in advance of the anticipated start date, (c) prosecute the work diligently, and (d) complete all work by August 31, 2017 in accordance with fisheries concerns.
