Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15 is conducting market research to help determine the availability and technical capabilities of qualified vendors who can provide typical three (3) piece bedroom furniture to furnish six (6) new resident bedrooms to the Marion VAMC. POTENTIAL SOURCES SHALL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IN THEIR RESPONSE: 1) Company name, address, phone number, primary contact(s), e-mail address, NAICS code(s), business size (i.e. small/large), and DUNS Number. 2) Statement of Capability that demonstrates ability of providing the item in accordance with the attached Statement of Requirement (SOR) and past performance in providing this type of service. Include examples of prior completed Government contracts, references, and other related information. This notice is to assist the NCO 15 in determining sources only. This announcement is not a request for proposals or quotations. The Government is not committed to award a contract pursuant to this announcement. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation or submission of information in response to this announcement. Questions and responses must be submitted no later than 10:00 a.m. (CST) on May 23, 2017 to Yvonne Kittling at yvonne.kittling@va.gov. Any proprietary information should be clearly identified as "proprietary information. STATEMENT OR REQUIREMENT All furniture proposed shall be fully assembled and functional upon delivery. The VA will provide a complete listing of any concealed damaged or incomplete furniture items to Vendor as soon as possible after discovery and Vendor shall provide replacement(s) as soon as possible. Construction of this project is anticipated to be complete by June 25, 2017, at which time the space will be prepared for furniture (punch list, floors prepped, accessories hung, cleaning, etc.). Government caused delays based on unforeseen circumstances will be negotiated with the parties. Unforeseen circumstances could be an Act of God, weather delays, construction delays, etc. Delivery shall be coordinated with the Interior Designer and will be a working collaboration between Marion VA Medical Center and the selected Vendor. All proposed furniture must be available for delivery to be received as soon as possible, but no later than 60 days after award. Expansion area is anticipated to be complete and ready for furniture delivery on or before July 10, 2017, provided there are no unforeseen circumstances that could cause a delay. Furniture to be purchased: Interested Vendors shall provide furniture in the finishes listed on Attachment A (brand name or equal) to be purchased by the government. Manufacturers and models, colors and finishes are specified and are to set a minimum quality standard (MQS) that generally meets our requirements for form, fit, function and to integrate and match existing bedroom furniture in this building. All items proposed must be finished in the laminates (brand name or equal) as listed on Attachment A and must be compatible to integrate with color scheme already in place. Matching is imperative; our priority is to provide a comfortable, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our Veteran population who will reside in this building. Attachment A is a list of furniture required with specific details, and is to be used to provide your proposal to Marion VAMC. All proposed furniture should be wood-to-wood construction secured with glue and screws for strength and durability. Captain beds should be 82 in length, 41 wide, with a 36 headboard. There should be four (4) drawers on either the left or right side (specified in Attachment A) and one (1) door at the foot. There should be space allowed toward the headboard to accommodate the nightstand. The nightstand shall be 23 inches tall, 21 wide and 17 deep with two (2) drawers as specified. The wardrobe closet organizer shall be 30 tall, 20 wide, and 20 deep with three (3) drawers as specified. All drawers will have recessed hand pulls (no hardware), and will be four (4) sided and dovetailed for strength. All drawer slides will consist of ball bearing nylon rollers with lever locks for positive in and out motion. All drawers will have a solid bottom to prevent dust and to keep it sturdy and square. Dual nailed nylon feet should be used to prevent floor damage and will have adjustable steel gussets to insure all products can be leveled on any surface. Interested Vendors shall assure they can provide the finish in the color specified to coordinate with building décor and will provide the government with proposed color and finish options as identified (equal or comparable) on Attachment A. All equal/comparable brands must be specified as requested on the attached list. If substituting an equal/comparable product, quote package must include detailed information showing that substitution meets all requirements of the item specified in the package, i.e. to be considered, equal/comparable product must have the salient characteristics as described in this SOR and match the color(s) specified on Attachment A.
