- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 2), James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, New York, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1) with Medi Stim USA, Inc., as it is the only responsible source that can provide the VeriQ Patency Verification system that is currently in use at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System, Manhattan Campus. The system was put in place on a no-cost basis five years ago. This acquisition is being conducted under the FAR 13.1 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. VA New York Harbor Healthcare System, Manhattan Campus has a need for the Medi Stim VeriQ System. This equipment is already on-site and in use in the cardiac O.R. This equipment is required because a lack of the flow-measuring equipment would directly jeopardize the safety of the cardiac surgery patients in the O.R. This equipment is used to measure flow in bypass grafts. Items being purchased in this acquisition: VQ4122 - Medistim VeriQ Patency Verification System PQ100032 - 3mm QuickFit Probe - SN 31840, 37962, 58721, 65647 PQ100042 - 4mm QuickFit Probe - SN 23802, 25516, 30411, 34662, 35452, 36541 PQ100052 - 5mm QuickFit Probe - SN 60225 One (1) year service agreement The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339112 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,000 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. Parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. The capabilities statement must provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate the capability of the party to provide the required supplies and services. All capability statements received by closing of this notification will be considered. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to Announcement VA242-17-Q-0668 - Notice of Intent. Responses due May 22, 2017 by 4pm eastern. A determination not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed- price contract. Based on the above information, the only company able to sell the equipment is Medi Stim USA, Inc.
