NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. 1.1 The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 811219 which has a corresponding Size standard of $20.5M. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. 2. Program Details: The contractor shall provide for the labor, equipme nt, tools, supplies and mater i als used to machine the thrust fitting bore of the aft hanger frame of the A-10 Nacelle center section and manufacturer and install the 160J412004-9 sleeve bushing (-9 sleeve bushing ) in accordance with (IAW) drawings 160J412004. The contractor shall pick-up, provide secure storage, provide services and return the assets to Hill AFB within 30 business days after receipt of assets unless otherwise coordinated with the government representative (GR). The work will be performed at the contractor ' s facility in support of the 309th Commodities Maintenance Group (309 CMXG) and the 309 Aircraft Maintenace group (309th AMXG) at Hill AFB, Utah. Formal Request for Proposal (RFP) in projected to be issued in the July timeframe. The estimated contract period will be five (5) years; the government is considering the contract as a firm fixed price acquisition. The results and capability responses to this announcement will help guide us to the most appropriate contract vehicle. Responses to this Sources Sought should also address the following questions: 1. The success of installing a bushing that will allow the proper alignment of the aircraft engine is dependent on maintaining the centerline of the bore as it is milled. How will contractor ensure bore centerline will be captured and maintained as both the socket is bored and as the bushing is reamed? 2. The -9 bushing is pressed into the socket after socket is milled. What process and tooling will contractor use in order to press the bushing into the socket? 3. A.75 inch diameter hole in the bushing will need to line up to the hole in the frame to accommodate an attaching pin. How will contractor ensure the two holes line up as the bushing is being pressed into the socket? 4. A NDI will need to occur at different stages of the repair process. Will contractor have NDI technicians to perform the inspections in-house or will rely on a third party contractor? 5. If contractor has NDI technicians, what level of training will be performing the inspections? The response should also include the following business information in addition to the capability statements: 1) Sources Sought Number 2) DUNS Number 3) Company Name 4) Company Address 5) Company Points of Contact, Phone, FAX, and Email Address.
